As part of its corporate social responsibility program this year, the world’s best cereals, The Kellogg’s corn flakes, with its marketing team – Kellogg’s Asia Marketing Inc successfully raised funds of RM30,000 for Yayasan Bakti Khidmat Masyarakat Malaysia for the benefit of local children’s charities during the Muslim holy month of Ramadhan 2011.

With every purchase of these specially marked boxes, RM 0.20 would be donated to an orphanage and other children’s charities through Yayasan Bakti Khidmat Masyarakat Malaysia (YBKMM).

The donations were part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, and were aimed at contributing back to society for the support it received from the society.
Kellogg’s has a long and proud heritage of supporting community projects globally, with a strong theme of promoting healthy and active lifestyles.

The whole business is getting behind the charity as we work through our products, our own employees and with our retail partners to help Malaysians help these children and expectedly, the campaign received an overwhelming response,” said Charles Wong, Marketing Director of Kellogg’s Asia Marketing Inc.

Mr Charles Wong, said during CSR Mock Cheque Presentation ceremony at YBKMM office, “The campaign is an ideal way for Kellogg’s to achieve its social mission”. On their roles in society, he expressed, “We truly believe that it is essential for us to play an active role in giving back to the society and in helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Our country will become a better place to live if everyone emulates their commitment and efforts in other charity works,” he said.

The President Cum CEO of YBKMM extended his deepest gratitude towards Kellogg’s as a great role model and truly inspiration for our people as well as the public who participated for making this charity cause possible.
