PETALING JAYA: Controversial and outspoken Kedah menteri besar Sanusi Nor has apologised to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim and cabinet ministers and sought forgiveness for making inappropriate remarks as menteri besar and in a political capacity.
“As fallible human beings, errors and mistakes are inevitable. May this Syawal get together be the reason for us to turn over a new leaf together, moving forward with pure intent, sincerity, and responsibility,” he said at the state-level Aidilfitri celebrations in Alor Setar tonight, Bernama reported.
He said the interests of the people should precede the eagerness to maintain political power, and all political matters should be dealt with in the political arena.
He also hoped the federal government would give attention to Kedah and not sideline the state.
Sanusi is head of the PAS state government in Kedah and also PAS election director.
