Are you at a loss for how to draw up a business plan? So many businesses struggle with focus and goal setting because they lack a simple document to guide them. In this video, I supply you with a business plan checklist. I describe the necessary elements of a basic plan that will help keep your business on track.
Here’s your business plan checklist:
– Keep it short. You only need 4 or 5 pages.
– Make it branded. Include your logos, colors, and style.
– Talk briefly about yourself. Demonstrate your authority, credibility, and experience to explain why customers should buy from you. And add a bit of personal info.
– Introduce your products and services. Describe what you do, but without too much detail. As you highlight what you offer, remember that outcomes are more important than features.

– Describe your target market. What do your potential customers prefer? How do they behave? How can you best reach them?
– Decide on the number of clients you really need in order to reach your goals. Ideally, focus on a select set of specific clients, as few as 10 or 20.
– Make basic projections and cashflow forecasts. How much do you want to earn? How many clients can you comfortably take on?
It’s as simple as that — that’s how to draw up a business plan in a simple step-by-step guide. Once you’ve ticked the boxes on your business plan checklist, test your plan for viability. Consult your plan often as your business grows and succeeds.
