Whether your business is small, medium or super sized the need for a smart marketing plan is paramount to success. In these tough economic times it's easy to slash budgets but is it wise? The very nature of marketing is to showcase your products and increase your sales. Marketing has a direct effect on profitability and sales.

Trade shows are possibly one of your most important marketing tools as they bring a targeted market directly to your product. They give you a chance to showcase your product to people who are actually interested in it – otherwise they would not be there.

That being said, find out who will be attending the show. Most likely the attendees at a trade show on the environment are in fact interested in the environment. This is probably a good place to show off your new, ground breaking eco friendly planet saving device – rather than a gas guzzling new turbine engine.

The next step is to design your trade show space. How much room do you have? How many shows will you be attending? Do you want something portable? Something that's easy to put up? Something versatile that can be used for different applications? Or do you want to go hog wild and have the biggest and best display at the show; possibly something custom made – a real show stopper.

Just remember whatever you decide, your trade show booth will increase your visibility and if designed well it will help you find smart leads, make more sales and increase profitability.
