SOFIA Lovi Ramasamy proved that being differently-abled is no barrier when she was crowned the very first Miss Amazing Malaysia (MAM). Winning the title at the inaugural event, held at Wisma Daju 5 in Petaling Jaya, meant a lot to Sofia. The 39-year-old full-time banker with psoriasis arthritis said she experienced personal transformation throughout the pageant. She also won the subsidiary title of Miss Optimistic.
Pageant founder Maynicca Dewi Rajamanikam, who was the first runner-up of Mrs India Worldwide Malaysia 2018, said Miss Amazing Malaysia’s mission was to provide an opportunity for women with differences to build confidence in a supportive and fun environment, while enabling them to reach their full potential.
She believes that it is the duty of all, as a progressive society, to empower this community to fullest.
