You have to admit that we Malaysians love getting praises from foreigners. Whether it’s about our food, culture or even our shopping centres, we love hearing what tourists from afar have to say about them. Last year, an Indonesian TikToker was blown away after she discovered that Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (now known as KLIA Terminal 2) has its very own mall.
Prior to that, a Nigerian YouTuber praised Malaysian’s friendliness during his trip to Melaka. It looks like we have another thing in Malaysia that is praiseworthy after an Indonesian traveller compared one of our bus terminals to an airport!

On Sunday (26th November), an Indonesian photographer who goes by Gaz posted a few photos on his Twitter page of the Southern Integrated Terminal or Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur. While the famous bus station is a normal everyday sight for most Malaysians, the netizen from the neighbouring country was in complete awe of how the terminal in KL feels so much like an airport.
“The bus terminal looks like an airport, there are departures and arrivals board as big as Gavan (a character from the 80’s Japanese live-action TV series “Space Sheriff Gavan”). The ticket sales system is centralised. All counters sell tickets from every bus company to various destinations. I don’t know what the results will be like,” he wrote. The tourist also shared how he didn’t get lost in finding which counters he should go to as the building’s layout is easy to understand
“It’s different from the Pulogebang Terminal in Jakarta cause you’d be confused about which counter you should go to. Not to mention being harassed by random brokers as well,” he said. The tweet went viral with many Malaysians commenting how they’d always take things for granted. Some even shared their experiences at other bus stations in foreign countries saying that TBS is one of the best and most convenient ones out there.

There were also some Indonesian netizens who agreed with Gaz that the bus terminals in their country can be quite confusing and lining up for a ticket can be quite a hassle. From this tweet, it’s evident that we have a lot to be grateful for. Let’s hope that TBS continues to offer the best service for both locals and foreigners.
