Tesla Malaysia has announced another Supercharging Station in the country. Specifically, the new one is located in Gamuda Cove, Selangor. The company also claims that it is the largest one in Southeast Asia, built in collaboration with Gamuda Land.
With that being said, there’s quite the difference in number between the available Supercharger stations and Destination Charger stations at the location. As per the announcement, Gamuda Cove has six of the former, and 18 of the later.
With the opening of the Gamuda Cove Supercharging Station, this brings the number of Supercharging stations in the country up to seven, with a total of 36 Superchargers. Destination Charging stations currently stand at nine, with a total of 55 chargers available for use.
The charging rates at the Gamuda Cove Supercharging station is the same as you’d find anywhere else. Which is to say, it will cost RM1.25/kWh for the Superchargers, with a RM4 per minute penalty if your Tesla is plugged in with a full proverbial tank. The Destination Chargers, on the other hand, are still free for Tesla owners until further notice.
With all that being said, if you’re ever in the neighbourhood and need your Tesla charged up, you can drop by the current largest Supercharging station in Southeast Asia at Gamuda Cove. The parking spots themselves are also free, so cost only enters the equation if you use the Superchargers.
