PETALING JAYA: National mixed doubles shuttlers Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei won their second Group B tie against Dejan Ferdinansyah-Gloria Emanuelle from Indonesia to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the BWF World Tour Finals in Hangzhou, China.

The Malaysian duo, ranked No. 8 in the world, defeated the world No. 13 Indonesian pair with a score of 21-17, 21-18 in a 49-minute match.

With one match remaining, they are assured of a semi-final berth after defeating compatriots Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai yesterday.

On another court, world No 10 Soon Huat-Shevon kept their semi-final hopes alive by defeating Japan’s world No 21 Hiroki Midorikawa-Natsu Saito in their second group match.

The Malaysian pair dominated the match, winning 21-14, 21-14 in just 34 minutes.

Soon Huat-Shevon must now defeat Dejan and Gloria in their final group tie tomorrow to advance to the semi-finals.
