Synology officially launched its DiskStation DS925+ Network-attached storage (NAS). IN addition to the new NAS, it also announced a new DX525 expansion unit.
Specs-wise, the DS925+ is a four-bay NAS equipped with dual 2.5GbE ports and two M.2 slots for creating all-flash storage pool or cache. Synology says that its latest NAS delivers substantial performance gains with preconfigured settings compared to its predecessor, including 149% faster SMB downloads, 150% faster uploads, 131% faster reads, and 150% faster writes
The DS925+ supports both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives, and support up to 200TB in a single volume size although the NAS will requires a RAM boost of up to 32GB from its default 4GB in order to do that. Alternatively, it can also support up to 180TB of storage, provided that you pair it with the DX525, for a total of nine storage drives.
The Synology DS925+ and DX525 are already available. At the time of writing, the company did no provide local pricing or availability.
