Have you ever wondered how companies like Starbucks, Nike, and Disney came up with their brand? How do these companies know what to provide to us as customers? What did they do that you have not done? What do all these companies have in common? Lastly, why are they so successful? BRANDING is what connects these companies to their level of success. Think about it, anytime you see one of these companies' logo, you automatically know who they are and what they provide! That is branding at its finest.
When I first was introduced to Internet Marketing, I had a tendency of following several people and not getting anywhere. I felt like I was all over the place and never really mastering what I wanted to do. This happened for a couple of reasons, 1) I did not have a clear cut thought about what I wanted to do, 2) I did not know who I was as a person and what I wanted others to know me for and 3 ) I did not understand the concept of profiting from my passions simply because I did not really know what I was passionate about.
In order to "brand" YOU and become known as the "go to" person, at the very least the above issues I spoke on would need to identified and answered. A brand is an idea or image of a particular product or service that people connect with, by identifying the name, logo, slogan, or design of the company that owns the idea or image. However, branding is when that idea or image is marked so that it is recognizable by a vast number of people, and identified with a certain service or product when there are many other companies offering the same service or product. Branding actually can be very simple if you do not over analyze the process.
Here are some successful branding strategies:
1) Create your brand identity. You do this by first identifying what you're passionate about. Are you a homeschooler expert? Do you love art? Do you enjoy planning and organizing? Whatever you are passionate about allow that to help you in building your brand. Also being able to identify what you're passionate about will allow you to provide a solution to people's problems.
2) Establish credibility. In order to establish your credibility the following need to be determined: A) Who's your target market? Moms, dads, small business owners, etc. B) Identify what you do better than anyone else C) Why do you do what you do? What provides the motivation? and D) How do you stand out from your peers? Being able to answer these questions allows you to establish your credibility and focus on your targeted audience.
3) Get involved with your niche !!! Getting involved with your niche allows you to build a presence online, add value to others and generate fans. While you're involving yourself in your niche, it is still important to strengthen your knowledge and become a master in your niche.
4) Establish visibility. I know that this may seem simple but it is so KEY !! People need to know that you exist and learn what you have that maybe a solution to their problem. The way to establish visibility can be done through social media, hosting webinars, tele-seminars, trainings, providing info products, etc. There are so many ways to get your passion, expertise, etc in front of the masses !!
