In today’s highly competitive business environment, there is perhaps nothing more important than planning and, specifically, developing a business plan. Given hyper competitive environment and the difficulties of doing business outside your home country, an export business plan is an integral part of strategically managing an organization. It is a written document prepared by the entrepreneur and the team that describes all the relevant external and internal elements in going global. Often export business plan is read by variety of stakeholders including customer, bankers and investors for different purposes. The business plan integrates the functional plans such as finance, marketing, and organizational plans, thereby, providing a road map for the future of the organization.
Resource Person : Dr B. Nishantha is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Department of Management and Organization Studies (MOS), Faculty of Management & Finance, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Dr B.Nishantha is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship, Department of Management and Organization Studies (MOS), Faculty of Management & Finance, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He served as the Head of the Department at the same department from 2015 to 2017 and he have initiated many academic programs for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs. He has served as Program Coordinator of Master of Public Administration (MPA) at the Faculty of Graduate Studies from 2016 to 2019. He is also the Coordinator of Diploma in Small Business Management (DSBM) program conducted at the department of Management & Organization Studies. Dr.Nishantha is the co-founder of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Unit (IEDU) established at the University of Colombo in 2015 for supporting practicing entrepreneurs. He holds a PhD from the Ryukoku University in Japan and MBA from University of Colombo. He has over 20 years of higher education teaching experience acquired in the Japan and Sri Lanka.
His current research interests revolve around the entrepreneurial intention among different social groups, growth dynamics of SMEs and entrepreneurship development in developing country context. Dr. Nishantha is serving as an editorial board member of the International Journal of Information Technology and Business Management (JITBM) and he has published many research articles in Local and International Referred Journals. He is an active member of the UNESCO Affiliated Entrepreneurship Development Program and have been delivered keynote speeches in International Conferences hosted by UNESCO and held in China and Philippine.
