Many celebrities have spoken up about getting flirtatious comments from thirsty fans, but they’re often unhappy reactions. However, singer-actress Elizabeth Tan admits to missing the thirsty comments she’d get back when she was still unmarried.
In a recent interview with Malay Mail, the star revealed that she has lost over 100,000 followers on social media since announcing her marriage to Dr Ding Siew Jim. The couple married in a small ceremony in 2021 and later held their wedding reception in 2022. She said, “After getting married, I noticed a lot of my followers unfollowed (me). It’s quite sad seeing that. It affected my social media engagement a little bit since it’s part of my income, but it is what it is.”
However, the public figure, known fondly as Lizzy, admitted to slightly missing her followers, cheekily saying, “Eventually the news would come out anyways, (it’s) better for me to just say it here, but do let them know I miss them.” Elizabeth also said that her trainee doctor husband is well aware of the thirsty message she received from male followers but claims he doesn’t mind them. At the same time, she also revealed that the two are now in a long-distance relationship.
Elizabeth said her husband has been posted for work in Perak for two years, so the couple only see each other once a month. Despite the sudden change in their relationship dynamic, the singer isn’t too hung up on it, adding that they treat the distance as space for the two to miss each other. However, she said the distance does cause difficulty for the couple to have kids.

The actress has previously voiced her desire to become a mother. Unfortunately, Elizabeth revealed that she went through two miscarriages last year. However, the starlet isn’t giving up on her dreams, saying she’ll be more careful with her body the next time she gets pregnant. The 31-year-old also said she’ll willingly postpone her career to ensure her child grows healthy.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth said she’s planning on releasing new music this year, dropping a new single in April. We wish the star all the best in her career, marriage and plans to become a mother.
