I’m going shopping for the Malaysian Merdeka Day – Malaysia’s Independence Day, which is on August 31st

Welcome to episode 46 of my trip all around Malaysia. If you haven’t seen the previous episodes you can watch them here:
➡️

I am in Kuala Terengganu, a state on the east coast of Malaysia. Tomorrow there is a special day for Malaysia, the Merdeka Day, which is the Malaysian Independence Day. So, there will be so celebration going on although a bit less then usual due to the current situation. Of course, I am going to join these Merdeka Day celebrations tomorrow, so today, one day before the Malaysian Independence Day I thought why not going shopping for the Merdeka Day and get some Malaysian looking clothes or hats. Let’s see what I can find here on the Pasar Payang, which is a famous market here.

When you travel southeast Asia, I can highly recommend you to join any national holiday celebration you can find while traveling southeast Asia. This is really one of the best ways to get to know a country, its people and the history of the countries in southeast Asia. I’m sure I’m going to learn a lot about Malaysia’s history tomorrow at the Merdeka Day, which I will celebrate here in Kuala Terengganu.

How are you celebrating Merdeka Day in case you are from Malaysia?Let me know in the comments ⬇️
