Through this article, we're going to go over how to do successful Search Engine Optimization. Before we do anything else, I want to answer the question: Is SEO difficult?
In short: No. It can be a little time consuming, but it's not difficult at all. Now that we got that out of the way, let's jump straight to it.
1. The first thing you want to do is proper keyword research. Pick a keyword with at least 3,000 monthly searches, while the number of competitiveness pages is lower than 100,000.
2. Next, you want your keyword to be your domain name. If your keyword is "cooking guide", your domain name should be cookingguide.com/org/net. If you can not get one of these domains, pick a new keyword by referring to # 1.
3. Once you've got your domain, you want to install WordPress on it. Why WordPress? Because Google loves freshly updated blogs, and because WordPress has so many wonderful SEO plugins.
4. Go to the "Settings" in WordPress' menu. Under settings, go to "General". Edit the "Title" to your main keyword (in my case: Cooking Guide). Edit your "Tagline" to something like "Cooking Guide – Everything You Need to Know".
5. Next, go to plugins and install the plugin called "Platinum SEO". Once you've installed it, go to its settings. Edit the "Home Title" to your main keyword. Edit the "Home Description" to something like "Cooking Guide Information". For the "Home Keywords", enter your main keyword again. Next scroll down to the options that being with the word "nofollow", and tick all of them.
6. Add two or three keyword rich posts over the next week.
7. Build a few backlinks to your site. You can do this yourself, or you can outsource it. It can be a very time consuming process.
That's it. Once you've done this, you should start seeing your page rank in a few day. It's not rocket science at all, just a little time consuming.
