Christian Louboutin is exploring his sporty side this summer with the launch of the ROCKNRUN, a bold new line of performance sneakers that seamlessly blend technical excellence with his vibrant personal aesthetic in four distinct colourways including an online exclusive.
The ROCKNRUN sneaker has been freshly conceived as the lightest and most comfortable sneaker in the menswear range, thoughtfully constructed for a snug yet breathable fit.
This focus on comfort is a logical evolution from the successful ‘Astroloubi’ sneaker launched last year, technical aspects of which have been adapted and expanded for this exciting new launch to create a shoe that is not only eye-catching and stylish, but authentically made with the practice of physical activity in mind.
It’s an innovative way of working, integrating instantly recognisable Christian Louboutin elements into performance wear in an elegant blend of sport and heritage. The studs which are such an emblematic signature of the Maison feature in rubber across the back of the shoe, a looping version of the Louboutin logo is emblazoned across the upper, and in an all-new interpretation, the world-famous red sole has been specially conceived for physical activity.
To support an athletic stride, the emblematic sole has been re-interpreted using material made for grip and durability, which is particularly effective when combined with a midsole that’s as soft and flexible as that of the ROCKNRUN.
With grooves that bend and grip perfectly while in motion, the foot is stabilised by a high-density arch support, a performance toe spring that facilitates forward motion, and a raised ‘crash pad zone’ under the heel that assists the transfer of weight from the back to the front of the foot. The shoe’s heel is constructed using encapsulated foam that envelops the foot with optimum bounce while being sturdy enough to keep it in place.
The ROCKNRUN is a thoroughly modern shoe, which is reflected by the use of environmentally friendly materials that are easy to process and recyclable in the sole, and with an upper that is made using 80% recycled polyester. This consists of two light and breathable knits that were designed to be combined in thermo-adhesive layers to showcase the contrasting finishing, prints and colours used in the graphic colourways.
Any late-night city runners will appreciate a practical twist to this inspired design element in that the ‘Louboutin’ feature and laces feature a reflective effect.
