News of a celebrity’s death is never easy, especially if you have been a fan of their work for years. Many of them, tragically, have died so young. It was confirmed yesterday (Tuesday, 12 November) that South Korean actor Song Jae-rim (송재림) had recently passed away. He was 39 years old.
According to reports, police found the “My Military Valentine” star dead at his home on Thursday (7th November); however, the cause of death has yet to be determined. Fans were devastated when the news broke. Many took to social media to mourn the late star, and some of his friends and former co-stars also paid tribute.
Seo Seung-Won (서승원)
Korean actor Seo Seung-Won took to his Instagram page to mourn for his dear friend. In the post, he wrote, ” It’s been a long time, hasn’t it? I would have called when I thought about you a few days ago. How is it there now? I will remember your smile always”.
Lee El (이엘)

Lee El, real name Kim Ji-Hyun, starred alongside Song Jae-rim in the 2022 Netflix film “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations”. Devastated by the news of her co-star and friend’s death, the actress appeared lost for words as she took to her Instagram Story to simply say, “I’m Sorry, Jae-rim”.
Park Ho San (박호산)
Veteran actor Park Ho San paid tribute to his friend by posting a photo of them hanging out together on Instagram with a heartfelt message. “I’m going to go crazy really. Jaerim, you’re such a bright person. I can’t believe this. I’m sorry, I can’t reach you, I can’t tell you that I’m so sorry,” he wrote.
Yoo Sun (유선)

Actress Yoo Sun previously worked with Song Jae-rim in the 2022 film “Good Morning”. She shared an old black and white photo of them together on Instagram Story to mourn her former co-star saying, “Jae Rim, it’s so heartbreaking and painful. I hope you find peace and rest.”
There are likely more messages left by the late actor’s friends and co-stars, but these are the ones we have found so far. His funeral will be held tomorrow (Thursday, 14th November) at noon. We would like to express our deepest condolences to his friends and family, and may they find strength during this difficult time.
