2. Note the Specific Months You Want to Complete Your Big Goals
Now that you have your big goals written out, its time to start framing out when you will have that big goal complete! When I say complete, I mean you will be at a place with obtaining that goal where it fits in line with what you have in your minds eye when you see yourself accomplished with it. Some of your goals may be challenging to put a clear intention behind it so you have to use a mindful sense of accomplishment as your gauge. Example; my partner Adam said he has a goal to call his Mom every day. I asked him, what do you really want to accomplish? Do you want to call your Mom every day or do you want to grow your relationship with your Mom? Of course, he said he wants to grow with her. So, if there was a tangible end state, what do you want or where do you want your Mom and you to be at the end of next year? Do you want to be closes, deeper, more emotionally connected? Do you want to know that when you call her you are talking to your best friend? Take that emotional feeling you have and that idea of what it will look like to have the perfect relationship with your Mom and make that your end goal. Now, the big question is, how do we get to that place? SO again, you want to really have a clear picture in your mind of what the end state is for that goal and what you think it will look like when you are complete. Once you have that mental picture, I want you to write down a specific month in 2020 where that goal will be complete and obtained. I want you to own the month that you will be working towards and dictate it as the month you will make that one big goal complete and accomplished.
So many people write out goals but almost no one actually puts deadlines on when they will accomplish that goal. Stop giving yourself an out! Write it down and own it. What month do you want to have that money? What month do you want to buy that car? What month do you want to buy that house? What month do you want to be debt free? What month do you want to know you are right with your god or your spouse? What month?! Write it and own it. That’s step two in writing out your 2020 Plan of Action.
