PETALING JAYA: PKR Youth lodged a police report against Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin today over a speech he gave while campaigning in the recent Nenggiri by-election.
PKR Youth chief Adam Adli Abd Halim said the police report was lodged at Temerloh police headquarters together with Pahang PKR Youth, adding that police reports were being lodged by PKR Youth in other states, Bernama reported.
Similar reports against Muhyiddin have been lodged by various politicians in the past week.
In a posting on X today, Adam said the police report was against a statement by Muhyiddin Yassin that insulted the wisdom of Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah when he was the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
“Political leaders should be responsible in upholding the sanctity of the constitution that ensures the sovereignty, harmony and unity of the country,” Adam said.
Muhyiddin had claimed in an election ceramah that “for some reason” he was not invited by Sultan Abdullah to be appointed as prime minister after the 2022 general election (GE15) despite having the required majority to form a government.
