Orient Marks 75 Years With Limited-Edition Orient Mako Models & New Colourways For Mako 40

To mark its 75th anniversary, Orient has unveiled three limited-edition models from its iconic Orient Mako series, alongside three new colourways for the popular Orient Mako 40. A blend of sporty charm and everyday versatility, the Orient Mako lineup is made for those with an active lifestyle and an eye for style.

Since their debut in the 1960s, Orient’s diver-style watches have been a defining feature of the brand’s identity. The Orient Mako, introduced in 2004, quickly earned a cult following among watch lovers worldwide, praised for its variety of dial colours and intricate design touches.

Founded in 1950, Orient has established itself as a trusted name in horology, known for its in-house mechanical movements and global reach across over 70 countries. In 2025, the brand celebrates 75 years of watchmaking excellence with a special tribute: three limited-edition models – each capped at 6,000 pieces for the standard Mako and Mako 40, and just 1,000 pieces for the chronograph version.

These celebratory timepieces channel the carefree energy of blue skies and sea breeze, featuring radiant sky-blue dials with sunburst patterns and sunlight-inspired second hands (chronograph second hand on the chrono model). A vintage Orient cursive logo from the 1950s adds a nostalgic flair, while the screw case-back and screw-down crown deliver water resistance up to 20 bar. Each case-back also includes a unique serial number and an engraving that reads, “Orient Since 1950 – 75th Anniversary.”

The Orient Mako (41.8 mm) and Orient Mako 40 (39.9 mm) are both powered by in-house automatic movements with hand-winding capabilities, offering over 40 hours of power reserve. The chronograph model features a solar-powered movement – perfect for those who regularly use stopwatch functions on the go.

Expanding the Mako 40 line, Orient introduces vibrant new dials in red, green, and grey. The red and green models are paired with silver rotating bezels and yellow-tipped second hands for a sharp visual contrast. The grey and green versions come with updated silicone straps featuring embossed details, combining comfort and a modern aesthetic.

Beyond good looks, the Orient Mako 40 is equipped with premium features: sapphire crystal glass, 20-bar water resistance, SUS316L stainless steel bracelets, and the in-house calibre F6722 movement for precise, reliable timekeeping.

Whether you’re exploring the outdoors or dressing for a night out, the Orient Mako series continues to embody timeless design with cutting-edge function – now with a splash of commemorative flair.
