Actress-singer Fazura has been keeping a relatively low profile since her divorce from actor Fattah Amin. Following her separation back in October, she also took legal action against five individuals who spread false claims that she was the one who publicly announced the divorce which started a frenzy on social media.
While on the topic of slander, the actress called out a company after believing she was falsely accused of posting something inappropriate on Instagram. Here’s what actually happened:
Over the weekend, Fazura reposted a video on her Instagram providing updates on the situation in Palestine, as she often does. However, on Thursday (31st October), she received a notification from the platform stating that the video had been restricted by “moving the post lower in feed.” In an Instagram Story update, she revealed that this decision was made because the app’s content moderator mistakenly believed the video encouraged “sexual activities.”
Frustrated, the “Dendam Pontianak” star slammed META, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, for slandering her. “It seems that even META wants to spread falsehoods about me,” she wrote, referencing the five netizens who previously circulated misinformation regarding her divorce. While she was disappointed by the restriction of her video, it has not deterred the actress from continuing to post about Palestine and express her solidarity with its people.
Meanwhile, actress Nora Danish was recently accused of slandering Fazura. The 42-year-old insisted she didn’t comment on Fazura and Fattah Amin’s marriage during the Richman Coffee podcast discussion about household responsibilities. Nora told Berita Harian that the episode was recorded months before the former couple’s divorce. “When it was set to air, I did worry that some might feel targeted. However, the discussion was broad and intended to raise awareness, not aimed at anyone,” she stated.
