Casting calls can be very exciting, especially for those who are just starting out in the acting industry. However, there have been disturbing stories by well-known actors and actresses about how these audition processes can become uncomfortable and even dangerous.
While these predators often hide their true intentions, how would you react if someone were to blatantly offer you a job as a talent for a local “adult entertainment company”? It sounds too bizarre to be true but apparently, that’s exactly what happened to at least one local woman.
Speaking with a local media outlet, a netizen came forward with their experience of receiving private messages on Instagram from a peculiar individual. The person who messaged them claimed to be a producer for an adult entertainment studio that is allegedly based in Kuala Lumpur. The netizen was asked if she was interested in becoming a talent for a project where they’d be paid RM500 per shoot.
In the screenshots of the messages seen above, the producer promised the potential talent that there would be no sexual intercourse between the actors nor erotic foreplay during the session. However, the talents would be required to act fully naked for the shoot. “We are still in the pre-production process. We are new and have yet to embark on our first shoot. We might be the first and only porn studio in Malaysia so far,” the producer wrote in the message.
The concerned woman then asked the so-called producer how the content would be distributed and apart from the official website, the videos would make its way to sites such as OnlyFans, Manyvids and Clips4Sale. When asked about how the suspicious studio found her Instagram account, the anonymous user said that they were scrolling through accounts on Instagram and happened to stumbled upon hers through her followers.
Suspicious about the whole thing, the victim tried to decline by saying that she’d consider the offer if there were other girls at the shoot with her. The producer then replied, “I don’t mind but are you sure you want to bring your friends?” which further implied that they were hoping to meet the woman alone. There is currently no information on how many more women this “studio” has approached with the same offer.
For your information, according to the Censorship Policies in Malaysia, pornography of any kind is strictly banned in Malaysia. Individuals can be fined up to RM 10,000, jailed for up to 5 years, or both for possession of pornographic materials, according to Section 292 of the Penal Code.
