Malaysia’s catering icon, Dato’ Dr John William Xavier was awarded the SME category for his innovative and outstanding leadership in the Malaysian food catering industry at the Asia Pacific Brands Laureate Awards 2018.
When it comes to food catering, nobody knows it better than Dato’ Dr John William Xavier. He was born into the catering business as his father trailblazed the food catering industry and is recognised by the Malaysian Indian Caterers Association as the “Pioneering Founding Father of Food Catering in Malaysia”.
Known fondly as “The Big Rajah” himself, he started in the business as a kitchen help, learnt all the operations and slowly worked his way up. He is a people’s person and outstanding leader. All his senior team management: Executive Chefs, Head of Operations, Head of Event Design & Business Manager, Head of Brand – have been with him and the company since inception. And that was 20 years ago, unheard of at this time and age of mobility.
John is a food connoisseur and a globe trotter when it comes to exploring gourmet delights. He passionately seeks to further the creativity and innovation in the Malaysian food catering industry by offering world class cuisine, bringing back the various tastes and flavour from the world, back home.
