In order to increase the coastal defense capabilities of the Malaysian Navy, the LMS Batch 2 tender, which covers the procurement of new frigates, has been opened. It is expected that 4 pieces of the design to be selected in the production plan will be produced. While Turkey offers the MİLGEM design, the Netherlands offers the SIGMA design.

The first block of MİLGEM, 4 Ada class corvettes were built for the Turkish Navy under the contract of STM. The design of the Ada class also forms the basis for the ASFAT Hisar class ADKG. Later, the MİLGEM design was revised according to the demands of the Pakistani Navy, and two of them were started to be built at the Istanbul Shipyard Command and two in Karachi within the body of ASFAT. In the MİLGEM design ordered by Pakistan, there are 12 vertical launch systems for the Sea Ceptor air defense system, unlike the original version produced for the Turkish navy. In addition, the flexibility of the design has been proven by changing some sensors and weapon systems upon user request.

Ukraine is the second country to order 4 MİLGEMs. The launching ceremony of the first of the ships, called the Hetman Ivan Mazepa class, was held, and the haircut ceremony of the second was held. Ukrainian MILGEMs were also revised and changed according to user requirements. The propulsion system and 24 MICA VL launchers located at the rear of the ship are among these changes.
