He emphasized again that the venue has been changed from the originally scheduled Padang Merdeka Kota Kinabalu to the Likas Sports Complex Hockey Stadium. The Malaysia-China Friendship Association Sabah asks participants to take note of this change.

The change was necessary because a concert will be held at the Padang Merdeka by a Radio Televesion Malaysia(RTM) on the same day, which required the “JOM! Malaysia-China 2024” to be relocated to the Hockey Stadium.

“The starting and finishing points are both at the Hockey Stadium. Participants will head towards Tanjung Lipat and then return at the Kota Kinabalu City Mosque roundabout.”

Main sponsor, the well-known sports and leisure brand Skechers, has responded to the enthusiastic participation by announcing an additional 1,000 prizes. The first 1,000 participants to reach the first water station set up at the City Mosque will randomly receive a gift voucher, which can be redeemed at a designated counter at the finish line, while supplies last.

These 1,000 Skechers products, valued between 100 and 300 ringgit, will be distributed randomly, so each participant might receive items of different value.

In addition to these 1,000 prizes, the total value of the lucky draw prizes has been increased from last year’s 40,000 ringgit to 60,508 ringgit, with a total of 350 prizes. Among these, gifts and discount vouchers total 24,508 ringgit, and cash prizes amount to 36,000 ringgit. The grand prize is 12 pairs of Skechers running shoes worth 5,508 ringgit, with each winner receiving a pair worth 459 ringgit per month for 12 months.

In the lucky draw, the first prize is 2,000 ringgit in cash, the second prize is 1,000 ringgit in cash (3 prizes), and the third prize is 500 ringgit in cash (5 prizes). Additionally, Skechers is also sponsoring 30 Skechers cash vouchers worth 300 ringgit each and 100 Skechers cash vouchers worth 100 ringgit each.
