Johor police probe 4 complaints on Mahkota campaign

KLUANG: Johor police are investigating four complaints related to the Mahkota by-election campaign. State police chief M Kumar said six reports were received since campaigning began on Sept 14.

“We guarantee these investigations will be done comprehensively,” he told reporters today.

Kumar also said 1,399 officers and personnel will be on duty on polling day. “We are also prepared for the possibility of floods, with lorries and boats, ready to mobilise if floods occur,” he said.

Barisan Nasional’s Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah is in a straight fight against Perikatan Nasional’s Haizan Jaafar, in the by-election called following the death of Umno’s Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain on Aug 2.
