PETALING JAYA: Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have set up an FA Cup final clash against Selangor FC after defeating Kedah Darul Aman FC 3-0 in the second leg of their semi-final match tonight.

The Southern Tigers’ victory at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri ensured them a 5-1 aggregate win against Kedah and a date with Selangor in the title decider on Aug 24.

JDT’s Feroz Baharudin opened the scoring against the Canaries with a 49th minute goal before Bergson Gustavo Silveira Da Silva doubled the host’s advantage in the 75th minute with a header from a corner.

Juan Muniz Gallego scored the third goal in the 82nd minute.

Bernama reported that Kedah’s Ebenezer Assifuah had a goal disallowed for offside while their captain, Sony Norde, was sent off in the 84th minute after picking up a second yellow card.

Selangor beat Terengganu 6-4 on aggregate after a 4-1 win against The Turtles in the second leg of their semi-final match at the MBPJ stadium here last night.

JDT won the previous two editions of the FA Cup and have clinched the tournament three times in total.

Selangor and Kedah are the competition’s most successful teams after having lifted the trophy five times each.
