Known as Malaysia’s “intelligent garden city,” Putrajaya plays host to IOI City Phase I—a resort-style, mixed-use development in the heart of a relatively new satellite city located just south of Kuala Lumpur that serves as the country’s federal administrative center. IOI City provides 4 million SF of retail and 4.5 million SF of office space enveloped by breathtaking vistas. The design team took inspiration from the surrounding parks, lakes and wetlands to inform their “natural balance” design concept.
