Calling all K-drama addicts! “Big Bet” (카지노) is set to debut on Disney+ this week! The crime thriller series stars Choi Min Sik in the lead role, and features Son Suk Ku, Heo Sung Tae and Lee Dong Hwi.
“Big Bet” follows the story of Cha Mu Sik, who built himself up from scratch to become a casino mogul in the Philippines. But he suddenly finds himself embroiled in a murder case and is under investigation by the authorities. This leads to his life teetering on the brink of collapse.
Thanks to Disney+ Korea, we recently had the opportunity to interview three of the actors – Son Suk Ku, Heo Sung Tae and Lee Dong Hwi – on their experience working on the two-part series, which was filmed in the Philippines. During the chat, we asked the cast to share what they enjoyed the most while shooting there.
“I was there for four days. It was packed with a lot of filming action scenes. When I checked my weight after coming back to Korea, I lost five kilograms, due to the hot weather in the Philippines. But now, my weight bounced back up,” Sung Tae recalled. Meanwhile, Dong Hwi, said that he was in awe of the picturesque views of the seaside.
Meanwhile, Suk Ku, who plays the role of police officer Oh Seung Hoon, shared, “I remember the food being really great. I don’t think they have one in Korea. It’s called Jollibee. I really love Jollibee. The bee mascot character is so cute. We tried the curry-flavoured chicken rice. That was my favourite dish. Please bring Jollibee to Korea!” the “My Liberation Notes” star expressed.
