Govt to spend RM10.76b subsidising electricity for domestic, SME users

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has announced that the government has allocated RM10.76 billion to subsidise electricity tariffs.

“In total, the government is allocating RM10.76 billion in subsidy to ensure this is done for the best interest of the nation,” he said in a press conference today, in conjunction with the electricity tariff adjustment for Peninsular Malaysia for the period of Jan 1 to June 30, 2023.
