In 2019, Facebook announced Libra – its digital coin similar to bitcoin, however they faced a lot of backlash from the US government and others. Now in late 2020 Libra – the original currency from Facebook is cancelled, being replaced by Diem – there new fresh start, running under a separate entity named “Diem Association”
