PETALING JAYA: A 39-year-old drunken man was arrested after acting indecently and pulling a pocket knife on policemen at the Ampang Jaya police headquarters.
Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said in the incident, which occurred last Tuesday, the man rode up to the police headquarters’s guard post on a motorcycle before approaching personnel on duty.
He then “provoked” the cops and was said to be in an “uncontrollable drunken state”.
“A warning was given but the suspect still acted aggressively and took out a pocket knife. He was then arrested but a scuffle took place in the process.
“The suspect sustained injuries to his forehead as he hit his head on the road in the process of being cuffed,” Azam said in a statement.
The suspect has a criminal record and is under remand until next Tuesday.
The suspect, previously charged with five offences, now faces charges under Section 90 of the Police Act for indecent behaviour in a police station.
If convicted, he can be fined up to RM500 or jailed up to six months, or both, if convicted.
The suspect is also being probed for possessing a weapon. If convicted, he could face up to a year in jail, a fine of up to RM5,000, or both.
