PETALING JAYA: A man was burnt to death after his car caught fire at Km5.5 of the North-South Expressway (PLUS) in Johor this morning.
Johor Bahru Utara police chief Balveer Singh said the Honda City driven by the 22-year-old victim was heading towards Skudai on the right lane of the highway when it suddenly caught fire.
The driver managed to stop the vehicle but it was too close to the guardrail, preventing him from getting out as the flames spread.
“He was trapped in the car and was burnt to death. Firemen at the scene had tried to put out the fire but failed to extract the victim,” Balveer said in a statement.
