Did Firdaus Wong Have A Hidden Motive For Exposing KK Super Mart In ‘Allah Sock’ Case?

You may have heard that KK Super Mart has been going through a lot of scrutiny lately after socks printed with the word ‘Allah’ were found in one of the stores. However, you might not be aware that the one who first shared about the socks was public figure Firdaus Wong.

However, many netizens are now discussing whether Firdaus had a hidden motive behind his initial post calling out the convenience store chain. Recently, a Facebook user named Aman Muhammad thanked the Muslim preacher for bringing attention to the ‘Allah socks’ issue. In addition, the user hoped for the Firdaus’ own mart business to flourish.

It turns out that Firdaus is the founder of ‘MyKampung Freshmart’, a non-profit organisation and convenience store under MRM Plus Sdn Bhd and convenience store. The store at Seksyen 7, Shah Alam, opened its doors on 3rd April 2021 – but none of their social media accounts are active. As you can expect, this revelation led many to discuss whether Firdaus exposing KK Super Mart was just a ploy to bring down a competitor’s business.

One Twitter user @/KlutzyKucing wrote, “It turns out that Firdaus Wong has his own mart. No wonder KK Mart is getting attacked back-to-back.” Many other netizens shared the same sentiment, saying that Firdaus may have had a hidden motive to “expose” the socks. Some even pointed out that it’s suspicious how he’s shopping at KK Super Mart when he has the MyKampung Freshmart, alluding that he must have been the one who “planted” the socks at the store.

However, some netizens backed Firdaus, saying he had no reason to bring down KK Super Mart. They shared that his business has unfortunately ceased operations for quite some time now, meaning KK Super Mart is not even a competitor. Some also urged others not to conspire about the situation as it could lead to unnecessary hate towards the public figure.

After the case went viral, Firdaus said he spoke to KK Super Mart founder, DR KK Chai, who apologised to the preacher for the socks. It seems there is no bad blood between the two – but what do you think about this conspiracy theory?
