Another week, another whirlwind of totally EXTRA events! We were here, there and everywhere!
We were electrified by BYD’s latest wheels; had our fill of the MICHELIN Guide; had a ki-ki with contestants of Miss CosmoWorld International 2024, and more. We were on the scene, and vibing like a boss! Just check out our social diary for this past week (don’t be jelly!):
BYD SEALION 7 Launch
One of the most powerful all-electric SUVs arrived in Malaysia this week, and we were among the first to give it a warm welcome. Say hi to the BYD SEALION 7! The Chinese automaker’s new flagship model has top-tier performance, including an NEDC range of 542km, all-wheel drive with 390 kW of power, 690 Nm of torque, and a 0 to 100 km/h time of less than 4.5 seconds.
Not only is it top-tier when it comes to performance, it is also the paragon of safety, featuring nine total airbags, a 360-degree camera setup, as well as driver assistance and cruise control! This amazing machine is priced at at least RM183,800, while its performance counterpart sells for RM199,800. The MICHELIN Guide Ceremony KL & Penang 2025
The MICHELIN Guide Kuala Lumpur & Penang 2025 unveiled its highly-anticipated list of MICHELIN Starred, Bib Gourmand, and MICHELIN Selected restaurants, honouring 143 restaurants across Malaysia’s dynamic culinary landscape. This third edition highlights the country’s finest gastronomic experiences and introduces new award categories emphasising sustainability, innovation, and culinary excellence.
International Director Gwendal Poullennec expressed admiration for the impressive progress of Malaysia’s culinary scene. He highlighted the significance of two new restaurants earning a MICHELIN Star and the addition of 12 new Bib Gourmand establishments, which showcase the rich diversity of local flavours. Poullennec also celebrated Malaysia’s first MICHELIN Green Star restaurant, underscoring a commitment to sustainability and the preservation of cherished family recipes. Walkerworld Asia Tour Pt.II.
We were treated to an exhilarating night of music celebration as DJ and producer Alan Walker took the stage at The Landing (KL Base), Sungai Besi for the highly-anticipated “Walkerworld Asia Tour Pt.II.” In a unique twist on the live experience, the stage was transformed into a multi-layered, immersive setup, complete with a signature drone display created specifically for the Walkerworld tour.
Walker’s set was a thrilling blend of his iconic dance-pop beats and groundbreaking visual effects. Each track, from classics like “Faded” and “Alone” to his latest hits from the Walkerworld album, was elevated by stunning light and visuals that were perfectly designed to create a fully immersive experience. The crowd reveled in the energy of the night, dancing and singing along to every beat of Alan Walker’s iconic hits, creating an electric atmosphere filled with joy and unity. Miss CosmoWorld International 2024 Press Conference
We were front and centre at the Miss CosmoWorld 2024 Press Conference: Global Beauty, Talent, and Inspiration, in KL. Founded by Carrie Lee, a renowned Malaysian beauty queen, and led by organising chair lady Tay Cheah, Miss CosmoWorld has become a beacon of international unity and female empowerment.
The event was attended by the guest of honour, Y.M. Tengku Dato’ Dr Hishammuddin Zaizi Bin Y.A.M. Tengku Bendahara Azman Shah Alhaj, Tan Sri M. Kayveas, and Dato’ Sri Chong Chin Fung. The press conference showcased the impressive lineup of beautiful contestants from over 30 countries, bringing a unique heritage story and aspiration to the stage, dressed in a burst of colours that lit up the event.

Sunway Pyramid OASIS Launch
We attended the launch of Sunway Pyramid’s OASIS, which features an Egyptian theme with a fresh and elegant twist; and a colour palette of earthy tones. Decorative touches, like papyrus flowers are subtly woven into wall motifs and signage; while hieroglyphs spelling out “Sunway Pyramid” add depth and continuity to the design. Positioned between the Orange Atrium and Blue Atrium, OASIS’s architecture mimics desert dunes with gentle wavy lines across ceilings, floors, and lighting.
With a curated selection of over 100 local and international brands, including H&M Home, MUJI Store with Gelato & Coffee Counter, and Tricia Lew, OASIS redefines the shopping experience. We attended the press conference for Monsoon Escapade 2024 – a celebration of vibrant music, nature, and holistic wellness, as well as a bold step toward redefining the off-season for Malaysia’s tourism industry. Honda’s Deepavali Open House
Honda once again opened its doors and invited us to enjoy its Deepavali Open House. The beloved Japanese motor company collaborated with Star Boulevard, KLCC, to bring everyone closer together with delicious food and great company.
We had our fill of a wide variety of Indian cuisine served on banana leaves for the best experience possible. We then indulged ourselves in unlimited ice cream and cendol, with additional chocolate and treats to further sweeten our day.
