Rummage! Bargains! Second-Hand! Swap Meet! Garage Sale! Treasure! Collectibles! If these words make you happy, then there is a place in Kuala Lumpur you should know about. Treasures abound here, and at rock-bottom prices.
Whether you need a cheap vacuum cleaner, a stamp collection, a watch, or some used shoes still in good condition, this is the place to go for low-budget shopping.
I got there somewhat early, arriving at about 7:30 in the morning, and the buying and selling was still going on strong. This special flea market, hidden in a narrow alley in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown, is full of amazing items for sale and an equally amazing set of characters selling them. It’s as good a place for people-watching as it is for scoping out a bargain.
I didn’t come away with any purchases, but that’s just because I’m traveling, and I don’t really need to add more weight to my bags. But I did come away with some interesting video clips, and I hope you enjoy visiting this fun and eclectic place with me.
