Ayaneo Unveils Gaming Pad, Pocket S2; Both With Snapdragon G3 Gen 3

Chinese brand Ayaneo is primarily known for making gaming handheld PCs, with a handful of exceptions in its product catalogue. The company has recently announced a new addition to said exceptions, as well as one that walks the line between the two categories. These are called the Gaming Pad and Pocket S2 respectively, and both are rocking the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 chipset. And yes, both are Android devices.

Starting with the former, the Gaming Pad is, as the name suggests, a gaming tablet, with an 8.3-inch 1,440p 120Hz LCD screen. As usual for anything tagged for gaming, the company boasts of its cooling capabilities, but more unusually, it also boasts a 50MP main and a 13MP wide-angle camera combo for “exceptional camera capabilities for a gaming tablet”. There’s also a six-axis gyro and quad-chamber speakers, but oddly enough the company has left out details like battery, memory and storage from the announcement.

Then there’s the Pocket S2, which looks more like an Android phone and a mobile controller set welded together. This instead has a 6.3-inch 1,440p display, with the controller part of the device coming with Hall Effect sticks and triggers. Then there’s the AYASpace + AYAHome software for game and performance management. But again, battery, RAM and storage details are oddly missing.

Despite the announcement, considering the missing details it’s probably better to treat it as a teaser of what’s to come. Other missing details include their pricing and availability, with the company asking fans to “stay tuned’ for those.
