vivo has officially launched the latest addition to its entry-level smartphone lineup, the Y04, in Malaysia. Previously, local retailers like Satu Gadget have listed the device on their websites ahead of the official release.
The Y04 is equipped with a 6.74-inch 720 x 1600 LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 570 nits. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a headphone jack. Other notable features include an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as SGS 5-Star Military Grade anti-drop certification.
As for internals, the Y04 runs on a Unisoc T7225 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The device is powered by a 5,500mAh battery with support for 15W charging. For software, the Y04 ships with Funtouch OS 14 based on Android 14.
The budget smartphone features a 13MP main camera and a 5MP selfie camera. The camera system also comes with AI-powered functions like AI Erase for removing unwanted objects.
The Y04 comes in three colours, Titanium Gold, Jade Green, and Crystal Violet, and can be purchased from all vivo concept stores, authorized dealers, and e-commerce platforms in Malaysia. It retails for RM399, with a first sale offer allowing customers to acquire the phone through Hotlink Postpaid for RM139 in the first month, followed by RM60 per month for 11 months.
