If your New Year’s resolution is to get in shape or experience the great outdoors, it’s time for you to commit.
And to help you hit the field or the treadmill, here are some dope kicks you have to cop! From the “perfect” running shoe, to a stylish trail sneaker – these kicks will get you going all throughout 2025 and beyond.
On’s Year Of The Snake Cloudtilt
In celebration of the Lunar New Year, the Swiss-based sportswear company On has been meticulously crafting the perfect running shoe that will boost your luck in this auspicious time.
Introducing On’s limited edition Year of the Snake Cloudtilt, the commemorative performance sneaker that’s going to rock your world.
To start with, this sneaker is built upon the label’s signature silhouette, which has been given a sleek white colourway, creating a modest and elegant look.
To reflect the Chinese New Year theme, it’s been given a snakeskin print design, finished off with gold and burgundy accents.
However, this footwear isn’t all just looks. At its very core, the Year of the Snake Cloudtilt is built with the CloudTec Phase, which grants cushioning for soft landings and allows for seamless weight transfer.
And to help ease every step you take, it comes packed with Helion superfoam that allows for incredible energy returns on your morning jogs to your marathon.
The Year of the Snake Cloudtilt is available now for a limited time and can be purchased for RM909 at Running Labs Pavilion Elite.
Merrell SpeedARC Surge BOA
Though it is not entirely made for the Lunar New Year, we can’t help but feel that some person in the naming department had a kick when they called this shoe the BOA. Regardless, Merrell is helping you gear up for your next offroad adventure with the new SpeedARC Surge BOA.
This stylish trail sneaker has been specifically designed to take on athletic fast hikes. Starting first with its design, of which there are two, the SpeedARC Surge BOA comes in a black body with white soles and orange accents, while the other is an all-cream coloured body with gold accents.
A typical problem with hiking shoes is that they have a tendency to slip off unless tightened to the point of excess.
However, what makes this shoe truly unique is that it ditches the need for traditional laces and opts for the knob at the side, which allows you to twist it to get the perfect fit.
Furthermore, what makes it truly stand out – and surprisingly slim for a hiking shoe – is what’s baked inside. It has been crafted with the latest FloatPro technology, which is a lightweight and medium-density midsole that allows it to be springy and durably bulky without the weight.
To help you stay upright when going on rocky trails, the footwear has also been outfitted with Merrell’s signature Flexplate, which not only provides the aforementioned stability but also underfoot protection, durability, and grip.
Not only that, but the shoe features an innovative design consisting of coil-like shapes located throughout the underside of the shoe for improved shock absorption and energy return.
And if it’s not grippy enough, it has been further kitted out with Merrell’s signature Quantum Grip outsole, which provides unbelievable traction.
The SpeedARC Surge BOA will be available for purchase on Merrell’s official website from 7th January onwards. A pair will be retailing for US$290 (~RM1,300).
