Looking for your fist sick kicks of 2025? Then check these out!

From a sporty loafer hybrid, to a sickeningly stylish sneaker collab – lay your peepers on these hot new footwear drops.

New Balance’s 1906L “Rich Oak”

For nearly 120 years, New Balance has consistently delivered high-quality and high-performance footwear. However, the brand is no stranger to producing a more lax variety of shoes designed for professional settings. And to kick off 2025, the Boston-based company is finally delivering the much anticipated 1906L “Rich Oak.”

Featuring a more traditional look, these hybrid loafers feature a warm-tone suede brown that covers the entire upper of the shoe, from the overlay all the way to the tongue. This breaks the norm of the entire line, which is focused on mesh detailing. Though it can pass as the perfect footwear for any occasion, it is still designed to take on some intense activities, like running.

This is largely because below the brown suede sit a synthetic heel counter and a rubber sole, allowing it to flex and resist those surprise workouts. With a keen eye, you can spot interesting details such as the “N-ergy” tag on the lateral midsoles, the 1906L graphic on the lateral uppers, and the “New Balance” logotype at the back and on the toe box.

Keep your eyes peeled as New Balance’s 1906L “Rich Oak” is set to release later this month. The brand will announce the footwear’s price and availability alongside its release.

Carpet Company x Vans Old Skool 36

Throughout the years, Carpet Company and Vans have connected a few times, collaborating and creating colourful works for us to enjoy. And they are back at it again to deliver a new, cosy pair of sneakers that is sure to knock your socks off — the Vans Old Skool 36.

This venture sees the two seasoned fashion trendsetters blend their creative geniuses into this stylish pair. First things first – the Old Skool 36 comes in a mesmerising bright yellow faux croc skin with a black streak across its sides.

Its tongue features a red co-branded insignia, which features the Carpet Company’s star. If you are not fond of that design, you can swap it for another available option because  it actually rests on an interchangeable velcro tongue patch. It also features a yellowed off-white outsole, a yellow pull tab, embroidered accents, and die-cut rubber logos on Vans’ iconic waffle tread, and Carpet Company’s silver star completes the overall look.

This limited edition series comprises just 1,977 units, a nod to the 1977 Style 36 model, on which the shoe is based. Each pair has been individually numbered, with the digit(s) appearing behind the shoe’s tongue.

Set to release later this year, the Vans Old Skool 36 will be available for purchase on Carpet Company’s official website for US$128 (~RM575).
